Biography

Robert was born on 30 Jan 1828 in Washington County, Indiana, the son of Elisha Denny and Mary Hedger.[1]

Robert read law and practiced for many years. He was nicknamed "Judge," although he never ran for public office, because he occasionally substituted for judges. He was an ordained minister of the Christian Church.[1]

When he was 21 years old, Robert married Mary Mahalah Richardson, widow Hitchcock, who had five living children. She was 16 years older than Robert, and although they had 4 children, only one lived to adulthood.

He died on 28 May 1912[1] and is buried at the Crown Hill Cemetery, Indianapolis, Marion, Indiana: Plot: Sec: 34, Lot: 193.[2] His FindAGrave memorial states that he died in Indianapolis.
