Thomas Dent was born in Flore, Northamptonshire, England.

Thomas was born in 1821. His parents were Samuel Dent and Hannah Marston. ^[1]

He was living with his parents and siblings in 1841. ^[2]

He married Sophia West in 1844. ^[3]

They had seven children:

Josiah (b.1845) ^[4]

George Alfred (b. 1849 d.1849) ^{[5] [6]}

George West (b.1850 d.1850) ^{[7] [8]}

Thomas (b.1852 d.1853) ^{[9] [10]}

George Uriah (b.1855 d.1855) ^{[11] [12]}

Sarah Ann Elizabeth (b.1857) ^[13]

William Thomas (b.1859) ^[14]

Sadly, four of their children died young.

In 1861, the family was living in Floore.^[15]

Thomas appeared to be widowed by 1871. ^[16]

He passed away at the age of 56 in 1877. ^[17]
