Peter Dent was likely born in Nanjemoy 1693 Charles County. [1], son of Lt. Col. William Dent and baptized on 13 Jan 1694. [2]
He purchased Whitehaven of his father's from his older brother Thomas in 1715 and expanded it from 824 acres to 1,330 acres[3] through various re-surveys of the property perhaps from his other tracts 523 acres of “Friendship,” and 400 acres of “Gisborough” from his father.
He married Mary Brooke, daughter of Robert Brooke. [1]In 1726 in Prince George's County and resided on "Whitehaven" located on the Mattawoman creek of the Prince Georges - Charles Co. border by 1734[3].
His great grandson, Frederick, son of George moved from Cumberland to St Louis Co MO and bought a tract near current Fenton MO and named it "Whitehaven" for his Maryland ancestors[4].
He died on 20 October 1757 in Prince George's County, Maryland[1] leaving a Will[5][2] dated 5 Oct 1757 (Probated 23 Nov 1757) St. George's Co.
