John Brewer Dent, the son of Benjamin Dent and Susannah Brewster, was born at Dent's Inheritance in Charles County MD 9 May 1759. He died in Charles County MD 24 April 1838. [1]

Charles County Maryland Will Book DJ-16, 1833-1850; {Abstract by Mike Marshall}; Page 168. John Brewer Dent, Will, April 26, 1834; September 3, 1839 I, John Brewer Dent of CC, being in imperfect health of body, but of sound and disposing mind, memory and understanding;

To son John Benjamin Dent, part of tract "Johnson's Purchase" containing 28-1/2 acres, lying and adjoining "Brawners Risk". Also tract called Johnson's Trifle" containing 1 acre, two rods and ten perches, lying and adjoining "Johnson's Purchase".

To daughter Violetta Dent, 5 dollars paid when she shall call for it.

To daughter Susannah Attaway Dent paid when she shall call for it.

To son Levi Dent, negro Little Tom.

To daughter Priscilla Eliza Dent, so much as I own of the following tracts' "Birds Head", "Woods Wilderness" and "Davis Wilderness" containing 196 acres. Also the following tracts; "Great Worth", "Waters Race", "Waters Range", "Poverty", "Waters Addition", "Dispute", "Loving Brothers" and "Willful Distruction", all the tracts lying and adjoinging each other and containing 178 acres. Also tracts; "Arabiah", "Bartholomew's Lot" and "Whords Mountain" containing 302 acres being the land whereon I now reside. Also a part of tract; "Dents Inheritance" and "Dents Addition" containing 170 acres. Also part of tract; "Oneal's Desert", "Dyson's Addition" and "Partnership", it being the land formerly owned by Alexander Dent.

To daughter Priscilla Eliza Dent; slaves; Big Tom, Anna, Elizabeth, Hetta, Polly, Clem, Peter, Jordan, Kned, Kelly, Frederick, Sharlotte, Jim, Sam and Thomas Davy.

To daughter Priscilla Eliza Dent, all the household and kitchen furniture, all the stock of all kinds, all the grain of all kinds in the ear and in the earth, all the farming and planting utensils, all the tobacco and all the money which I may have at the time of my decease.
