Biography

Charles Kelty Denton was born Sept. 5, 1866 to James Allen Denton and Lucinda (Davis) Denton.

He married widow Sarah "Sallie" (Sargent) Bland on Nov. 25, 1900 in Angelina Co., Texas.

Together they became the parents of Winnie Helen (Denton) Metts, Frank Homer Denton, and James Harold Denton. They also took to raise Garman Evans, one of the sons of his deceased sister Katie.

Charles passed away October 25, 1922 and was buried at Gann Cemetery in Angelina Co., Texas. His wife, daughter, son, brother Jim, and sister Florence are also buried in the same cemetery.
