Carpenter Detweiler Engagement, June 25, 1918: Mr. and Mrs. J. O. Detweiler announce the engagement of their daughter, Helen, to Lieutenant Frank Carpenter of —— Dodge, Des Moines, Ia., a son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank W. Carpenter of this city. The wedding will not take place until after the war, the - - -ing officer expecting to go overseas within a few weeks. Miss Detweiler will also return this fall to the University of Nebraska to complete her college course. Lieutenant Carpenter is a graduate of the law school of the Nebraska University and a member of the Delta Chi fraternity. He received his commission at Fort Snelling, Miss. Detweiler is a graduate of the Central High school. [2]
