Biography

David DeVault married Susan Guest 19 March 1800 in Grainger County, TN. The Marriage Bond was signed by David's Brother-in-Law, John Six. [1]. A transcription of what may have been a family bible record listing David's children can be found here.

By 1815 David DeVault had moved his family south into Madison County, Ala where he appears on a County Tax List. [2]

David's wife, Susan, must have died in late 1817 or early 1818 because on 6 Oct 1818 David was married a second time to Nancy Tallant in Madison County, Ala. [3]

David had filed three adjacent land claims in what was then Cotaco (now Morgan) County, Alabama in Range 5 West, Township 5 South, in Sections 22 & 23.

David DeVault died on 2 December 1822 in Cotaco (now Morgan) County, Alabama. [4] David DeVault left not only a widow, Nancy DeVault and their children, but also several minor orphan children by his first wife, Susan. David's children by his first wife, Susan, are all named in a document contained within his Estate Probate records. In addition to an inventory of David's Estate, there are also several years of records showing the guardianship and upkeep for the minor children.

Devault-187 and Devault-135 appear to represent the same person because: same name, exact same spouse on both profiles, birth dates do not disagree with each other,
