Devault-2 and Dewald-15 appear to represent the same person because: same wife; same dates; same person
posted by Dave Rutherford
While it is true that his descendants may have adopted the surname spelling of Devault, Johann Michael is found in early Pennsylvania and Berks, PA records as Dewald and Dewalt. I nave never seen him recorded as Devault. Check out Dewald-15 as he is the same person with the correct surname spelling.
