Abigail Dexter was born at Providence. Rhode Island on September 7, 1655 [24: 7: 1655], daughter of Rev. Gregory and Alice (Fullerton) Dexter. [1][2][3]
She married James Angell on September 8, 1678, likely at Providence. James was born about 1651, son of Thomas and Alice Angell. [4][3][2][5]
They resided at Providence on the homestead that Jame's inherited in his father Thomas's will, written on May 23, 1685, and proved on September 18, 1694. [6][2]
James Angell died at Providence on March 3, 1710/11. [1][2][6]
Leaving no will, his widow Abigail administered his estate which was valued at L381. [2] His house was substantial and included 4 or 5 rooms, a barn and lean-to, a workshop for 'loome and gears.' [6]
Widow Abigail was still living on September 9, 1718, when her son James Jr. deeded the northwest corner of the property to her. [6]
