Biography

Elizabeth was born in 1804. She passed away in 1866. She was the daughter of John Hastings and Christie (Thomason) DIAL and granddaughter of Martin and "Chrystie" (Abercrombie) DIAL.[1]

"Benjamin and Elizabeth4 (Dial) Thrower moved, ab. 1825, with her parents, John Hastings3 and Chrystie (Thomason) Dial, and his father, Jesse Thrower, from S. C. to Walton Co., Ga., and lived about five miles from the Social Circle Community. Walton Co., Ga. was formed in 1818. Benjamin and Elizabeth4 (Dial) Thrower lived later on in Newton and Fulton Counties in Ga."[1] (P. 26)

Benjamin and Elizabeth Thrower's large farm was in Newton County between Conyers & Covington. In 1857, they moved to a red brick house at 203 E. Hunter St., [Atlanta] in what was then Marthasville - behind the Catholic church & across from the present State Capitol [1]. (1870 Census: Age 57, b. SC - 3rd ward Atlanta - Roll 151, P. 233)
