In December of 1785 James Dickinson, farmer of Westchester County, New York, the son of Robert and Zerviah (Fowler) Dickinson, bought the farm in the Manor of Phillipsburg, containing 32 acres; formerly owned by Robert Dickinson. This was labelled as Lot 63 and sold at auction in December, 1785.
James was co-executor of his father's will with his brother Samuel.
m. Phebe Unknown surname who died after 1808.
James Dickinson left to live in Duck Creek Hundred, Delaware for 30 years before he returned to New York near his family in Westchester County. The date of that purchase in Philipsburg Manor fits the timeline perfectly. James' last name started to be listed as Dickason on some tax roles when he returned to New York.
