Biography

Melcena Annette Dickinson, "Nettie," was the daughter of Thomas R Dickinson (1839-1865) and Sarah "Jane" Jenks (1841-1910). Her father, a sharpshooter during the Civil War, died of typhoid fever on March 8, 1865 in Frederick, MD.

She was born 26 Sepr 1861. The 1870 Census says she was born in New York. By 1870, her mother had remarried and was living in Michigan.
