Martha aka Patty was born in Virginia in about 1843 to James and Columbia Waddy Dickinson. She is listed with her parents on both: the 1850 Census[1] and the 1860 Census[2] in Louisa, Virginia. In late 1860 (marriage record needed) she married William Anderson Talley. She is listed with her husband and five children (William W., Albert, Louis, James, and Edgar) in the home of her father on the 1870 Census.[3] By the time of the 1880 Census, she is listed as a widowed music teacher with three children still in her home in Richmond, Henrico, Virginia.[4] At this time, it is unknown when she passed away (a record of death is needed) but it was sometime after the 1880 Census was taken.
