Emma Dieffenbach was born in January 1857 in Dewart, Northumberland, County, PA, the daughter of David Dieffenbach (1804-1898) and Elizabeth Truckenmiller (1815-1908).

1890 - Ogle County, Illinois (They possibly chose Ogle County because Emma's cousin, William C. Dieffenbauch, had moved there. After moving from Columbia County, PA in 1864, William became a successful farmer in Ogle County, IL. Benfer-47 19:04, 11 December 2014 (EST))
1900 – Grant Township, Story County, Iowa, Cyrus was a farmer, Elsie was 9.[5]
1910 - Point Township, Northumberland County, Pennsylvania, USA [6]
1920 – Kelly Township, Union County, Pennsylvania [7]
1925 - Lewisburg, Union County, Pennsylvania with daughter Elsie Reed Noll and her family after Cyrus' death.
Emma died at age 81 at her home in May 1938 due to cervical cancer (onset in 1932).[9] She was buried 21 May 1938 in Lewisburg Cemetery, Lewisburg, Union, Pennsylvania.[10]
