So there is an error here: Anna Christina married to Johann Georg Kistler is not the daughter of Johann Georg

born about 1710, rather the daughters of his son born 1740. How to fix this? https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/118572533/anna-christina-kistler

posted by Kelly Dazet
This should be relatively easy to fix, I just adopted Johan and it's been a while since I worked on this branch of the family tree. The profile says Johann Adam, but the birthdate of Johann Georg. I'm combing through some stuff right now before I make any big changes so I can be positive I have it right. Thank you for your help!

Anna Christina was born around 1747. her father could not have been born in 1740.

In 1747, the family was still in Wolfskirchen, Alsace -- Anna Magdalena was born there in 1750. So if Anna Christina was a member of this family she would have been born there. I didn't find a child with that given name born about 1747. Could she have been one of the other children? Or was she possibly from another Dietrich family? If she was born in Berks County PA, it would have to have been another family and not the Wolfskirchen Dietrich family. This is an interesting problem. but also confusing. The good thing for the Wolfskirchen Dietrich family is that we have actual documents in the form of the Wolfskirchen Lutheran Church Books. There have been no actual documents found (to this point anyway) that an Adam Dietrich b. 1740 and his family originate in Dresden, Saxony, other than what was written by William J. Dietrich.

No, none of the other children are old enough to be her parent. All I can say for certain is that she's not the daughter of George. I have at this point very limited information about her, genealogical reference books, and the will of her husband that I've only seen an abstract for. Continuing research.

"Christina and George Kistler (Jr. b. 1744) were married when they sponsored the baptism of Johann Georg BIEBER, son of Henry BIBER and Eva Catharina DRIESSIN, in 1773, per records of Rev. Daniel Schumacher"

Do you know who this Henry Bieber and George Bieber are? Her husband's will was also witnessed by a Heinrich Dietrich. So I'm assuming that's why someone believe she was the daughter of Johann Adam? The family history library in my town is supposed to be open tonight so hopefully it actually is and I make some progress.

Kelly and I have been looking at the Wolfskirchen church records (Hein 1979). Baptism of Adam's children are at the bottom of p 49 and then at the top of p 50 are baptisms of Jacob Dietrich's children. One is Anna Christrina b 1747. Jacob evidently migrated to America in 1752, a year after Adam (Sr). They were likely brothers, but that is not yet documented.

Excellent! Thank you so much.

So I'm pretty sure that Christina had a sister Anna Catharina who married Hans Jacob long, and a sister Anna Magdalena, who married Hans Martin Peter. https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3Q9M-C339-HYLN?i=207 Not enough information to put in yet, but leads to chase down and they may help us identify the exact relationship between Jacob and Adam.

There's also a Dietrich Bieber.

Looking at the Archives Departementales Du Bas-Rhin, I found no birth record for this Adam Dietrich in Wolfskirchen, only records for his children. I suspect he was born elsewhere. Perhaps a neighboring town, or even further away in the Rhineland or even Switzerland. I've seen family trees that say he was born in Riesweiler, Pfalz but have found no supporting evidence of such.
