Colonel Matthew Dill was born about 1726 in Ulster, Monaghan, Ireland. He was a founder of Dillsburg, PA. Matthew Dill Genealogy posted on Find A Grave [1]
Matthew served as a Colonel in the Continental Army during the Revolutionary War. He was a member of the General Assembly 1777, 1779; he paid the Supply Tax 1779-1783. [2]
He died on 10 April 1812 Adams County, Pennsylvania, and is buried in Lower Marsh Creek Cemetery, Fairfield, Pennsylvania. [3]

In the name of God Amen. I Mathew Dill of Millerston in the County of Adams in the State of Pennsylvania yeoman being in health of body and of sound mind & memory & understanding blessed be God for the same but Considering the uncertainty of this transitory Life, do make and publish this my Last will & testament in manner and form following, to wit~ principally and first of all I recommend my Immortal soul into the hands of god who gave it and my body to the Earth to be buried in a deasent and Christian manner at the discretion of my Executors herein after Named as to Such worldly Estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me with in this Life I give and dispose of in the following manner first it is my will & I do order that all my just debts & funeral Expenses by duly payed and Satisfied as soon as can Conveniently can be after my diceas~
Item one I give and bequeath unto My loving & dear wife Susana Dill the House and Lot I now live upon in Miller Town Adams County and all the household and kitchen furniture one horse Creature Sadle & bridle & two cows & allso give & bequeath her forty pounds anualy during her Natural Life & also I alow her to have the benefit & the Sarvis of Caton Evins & rosana the remander of their sarvistud and their freedoms to be given them out of my Estate~
Item I give & bequeath unto my son George Dill during his Natural Life the tract of Land whereon he now lives in franklin Township York County & State of pensyvana Containing about one hundred & fifty arcres more or Less & at his desase I give & devise the said tract of Land with all the Improvements & hereditaments to his two sons Matthew Dill & George Dill & to their hairs & assigns for Ever Subject Nevertheless to their mothers dower out of the same during her natural Life
Item I give & bequeath unto my son-in-law thomas Sanderson & betsey his wife their hairs & assigns forever the tract of Land with the hereditaments whereon he Now lives called Dills Branch situat in Indiana County & State aforesaid
Item I give and bequeath unto my daughter Jean wife of John Calhon & to her hairs & assigns forever the tract of Land upon a small Branch of Black Creek adjoyning Land of Adam Ritchey Indiana County & State aff'sd
ItemI give and bequeath unto my step-daughter paley waugh one hundred & thirty pounds in full of her sarvises dun to me to be payed to her two years after my desase
Item I give & bequeth unto my son John Dill fourty dollars anualy to be paid to him Each year at the Discreachon of my Executors as he stand in real Need of it, and my will is that after the death of my wife Susana Dill the remainder of my Estate be Equaly divided shair & shair alike by my Executors herein after Menshoned in the Manner following one shair to my son Thomas Dill one dito to my daughter Mary Williams one dito to Martha Dixon one dito to my son Matthew Dill one dito to my daughter Nansey Armor one dito to my daughter Abigill Richey one dito to my son George Dill one dito to my daughter Jean Calhon one dito to my daughter Betsey Sanderson one dito to my Step daughter Mary Waugh one dito to my son John Dill to be given him by my Executors as he stands in Need of it and I desire that my Executors shall divide my Books amongst my above Menshoned Children
And Lastly I Nominate Constitute & appoint Amos Magenly, Esq of Millers town & Thomas McKee of Liberty township yeoman both of Adams county in the said State to be the Executors of this my Last will hereby revoking all other wills Legasies and bequests by me heretofore made & Declaring this and no other to be my Last will & testament In witness whereof of the said Matthew Dill have hereunto set my and and Seal the fifth day of March in the year of our lord one thousand and Eight hundred and Eleven
