Mungo Dill and his two half brothers, David and John, arrived in Nova Scotia about 1775 from Ireland and settled in the Ste. Croix area (known in the early period as Seven Plains). Ste Croix is located about 11 km from Windsor, N.S. on the road to Halifax. In 1802 David Dill purchased the farm known as Cinq Maisons (The Five Houses) and later known as Georgetown from Margaret Scott of Sackville, N.S., widow, and Michael Scott, Gentleman, who was living in England when the land conveyance took place in 1802 (HCRegistry).
