Research Notes

For one of the merged profiles, this source originally connected it to James Dillard as father. James Profile has a good bit of information included in it from Dorothy Dillard Hughes's (highly regarded Dillard researcher) research into James. The question is, did the original profile attributed as his son have research that finally connected him as to Edward? Further research should be done to incorporate Dorothy Dillard Hughes research into the correct information. Her research was published in the Dillard Annuals and are available on the Dillard Annuals Space Page.

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with George by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with George:

Seems unlikely that this George who inherited 190 acres from an Edward would be a son of James who died in Amherst County. I believe that old link came from H. Moorman Dillard and much of his work has not been found to be accurate. What pages in Dorothy's work can I find the Culpeper Dillards? Wish it were indexed. Things to do someday. Thanks, Mary

The research notes are more a commentary on how the profile was found to be attached to the appropriate father since there is no research or information on the profile, just GEDcom stuff. Mary, your are doing a great job with our Dillards. Thanks for your work!
