From Find a Grave :
The parents of Samuel, were from Quaker ancestry. His father, served in the Rev. War.
Samuel married his first wife, Nancy Ann Fletcher in 1802 in Fauquier, Virginia. [1]They had two children, Joshua and Harriet. In 1811, Nancy died and Samuel moved to Ohio.
On 28 April 2, 1812, he married his second wife, Vashti Borton near Stillwater, Belmont, Ohio.[2] Samuel served as a Pvt. in the War of 1812 in Capt. Joseph Kirkwood's Co., Ohio Militia and was discharged Feb. 22, 1813.
They moved to Sangamon County, Illinois, and settled in a place now called Fancy Creek. Samuel died in 1859 in Sangamon County, IL.
A possible marriage to Elizabeth Hanks Ray is recorded in 1837, but unless he divorced Vashti, I doubt this is the right Samuel). Vashti died in 1884 in West, VA where she went in 1860 to live with her sons following Samuel's death. In 1850, Samuel is listed with Elizabeth as his wife[3]
