Dillon, M.D. December 1999 (with one minor addition on page 20 dated January 31, 2018) https://www.ncgenweb.us/tyrrell/Dillon%20Family%2001312018.pdf page 15 Benjamin Dillon #1: One Benjamin Dillon was born January 18, 1755 in Pittsylvania County, Virginia according to his original Revolutionary War pension application papers. --

"While residing in Henry County, Virginia, he enlisted and served as a private in Captain John Salmon's Company, Colonel Abram Penn's Virginia Regiment. He served for three months from March 1, 1779 and then for six months from March 1, 1780. His service was spent guarding the arsenal and magazine in Henry County Court House, Virginia. In 1796, he moved to North Carolina: first to Rockingham County (see 1800 Census); then in 1801 to Guilford County (see 1810 Census); then in 1825 to Davidson County. He was living in Davidson County in 1833 when he was granted a pension based upon his Revolutionary War service. He died April 14, 1838, leaving a widow (name unknown). This Benjamin Dillon (spelled "Dillen" on his pension application papers) was probably a member of the large Quaker Dillon family that resided in and around Guilford County"
