Theobald Dillon, 7th Viscount Dillon was the son of Capt Robert Dillon, of Lough Glynn, co. Roscommon and Rose Dillon. He succeeded his 2nd cousin Lucas Dillon in Sep 1682 as 7th Viscount DIllon. He m. Mary Talbot (d. 7 Sep 1691), dau. of Sir Henry Talbot, of Templeogue, co. Dublin, and of Mount Temple, co. Roscommon, by his wife Margaret Talbot, sister of Richard [Talbot], 1st Duke of Tyrconnel, and dau. of Sir William Talbot, 1st Bt., of Carton, co. Kildare. He d. 12 July 1691, killed in action at the Battle of Aughrim; his widow was killed during the Siege of Limerick by the explosion of a bomb.
