Biography
When Rebecca Dillon was born in 1790 in Tennessee, her father, Carter, was about 38, and her mother, Hannah, was about 30 (source: Ancestry.com trees). Rebecca married William H. Hawkins in about 1810, based on when their children were born. They had at least nine children in 21 years (sources: 1830 McMinn, TN census and 1840 War Eagle, Madison, TN census). Some children reported numerically in pre-1850 censuses have not been identified and may have died young. She died in 1843 in Carroll, Arkansas, at the age of 53 (source: Find a Grave). Rebecca died about 7 years before her husband William (source History of Northwest Arkansas, Goodspeed Publishing).
