Bea, I wonder if Greitje Dircx really is Margarietje Denijs?
The whole thing rests on Jan* Schut in 1652 being the same man as Jan Harmens Schut from 1649.
Could Jan * actually have been Jan Willems? If so then Jan Harms may have lived long past 1652 and Jan Willems could have been married well before 1649.
I am not sure when Willem Jans Schutt is supposed to be born but we know Grietje Dircks was born 1632, perhaps Jan Willems was a widow when he married Grietje

Hendricks-1599 and Dircks-5 appear to represent the same person because: This is the oldest maternal ancestor in this chain in need of a merge into the patronymic NNS PPP. No tree conflicts. Add aka Hendricks. Thanks!

I agree with John. The sources I have reviewed only list the three marriages for Grietje. It appears that there may have been two folks with similar names at the time. Additionally, Grietje was born in New Netherlands whil Geertje was born in the Netherlands according to her profile.
Hi Philip, thanks for looking at this. I do not think they're the same person. Grietje's marriages are pretty well established and the last overlaps with Geertje's. Although there is not a good record of that, her children with Jan are good. Grietje's lineage is pretty well established and never associated with those children. I think the marriage to Jan [Metselaer] here is not correct. See the comments on his profile. Barents also seems to have lived beyond Geertje's first child. I found the Neafie article I cited to be pretty helpful. Unfortunately there seems to be another Geertje Dircks, but that's another story..
Scott, since you imported this from a gedcom, I think the first thing you should do is to try to find the spouse or child or parent in your gedcom that somehow got stripped out. Or did those profiles simply not import? Why was she unattached in your gedcom?
That really matters, because if there are other gedcom oddities that don't quite match the existing profiles and tree, we need to get those cleaned up.
If you need help reattaching your loose gedcom to itself, let me know.
Dircks-5 and Volckertszen De Noorman-2 are not ready to be merged because: I do not see the match but will refer the merge proposal to my fellow project members.
