1901 The Death Record. Jacob Dixon Jacob Dixon, a well known resident of the south end of this township, died Monday night November 26, of Bright's desease after an illness of several weeks. Deceased was born in Ohio December 24, 1845 and is the son of John Dixon Sr. He came to Illinois with his parents in the spring of 1863 and has been a resident in this vicinity since that date. He was the eldest of a family of three boys and six girls of whom two brothers and four sisters are living. Mr. Dixon united with the Christian church at the age of 19 years and was united in marriage with Serilda Jane Fred October 6, 1878 to whom were born tow children. Mrs Dixon died in 1891. In October the subject of our sketch was married to Rosa E. Betts and to them was born one child. The wife, two children, father two brothers and four sisters survive him. Impressive funeral services were held at the Christian church Wednesday morning, conducted by Rev. W. F. Stevenson. The interment was at the Lovington Cemetery. Deceased was a splendid citized and highly respected by the entire community and his death is sincerely regretted by his every acquaintance. May he rest in peace.
