One of 112 coal miners who died in the Virginia City Mine coal mining accident west of Bessemer, Alabama. The miners died while trapped in a dust explosion and the release of toxic fumes.
William, Mary, and their son, Jessie; were enumerated in the 1900 census of Jefferson County, Alabama, United States.[1]
