In 1911, he is listed as a Boarder in the home of Margaret Foulds, and lists his occupation as a Motor Engineer. William married Gertrude Craven on October 14, 1911, at Wesley Chapel, Hargreaves, Burnley. The couple had two children before William joined the British Army in 1915. He was assigned to the Army Service Corps (Mechanical Transport), and served until October, 1918.
William passed away in Fylde, Lancashire, England, in 1963.
