The 1850 Census for Johnson County, Kentucky found the James Stafford family with three children. One door away was the young family of Ralph and Amanda Stafford.^[3]

The 1880 Census for Paintsville, Johnson County, Kentucky found the Stafford family with two new members and without Mary A. Livingston:^[6]
