There is NO evidence to support a DOD of 1870. Alfred Adler Doane is mistaken here. He asserts that Ruth was unmarried and died in 1870. As there are numerous marriage records from 1807 showing her marriage to Joseph Haines, it is also questionable as to the veracity (and source) of the assertion that Ruth lived until 1870. Where's the proof that she died in 1870? As Joseph married a 2nd time, one would presume that his 1st spouse (Ruth) was deceased.

1. Ruth married JOSEPH Haines (Haines-3048), not Jacob Haines. She was the 1st wife of Joseph. Jacob was the bother of Joseph. Numerous marriage records exist of the marriage: 21 Sep 1807 in Warren, Ohio, USA. Source:https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:2QQT-1HM ---

2. Ruth Doan born 10 Nov 1785. Source: p. 351, "Encyclopedia of American Quaker Genealogy" https://babel.hathitrust.org/cgi/pt?id=mdp.39015002304221&view=1up&seq=381&skin=2021 Be careful of the birth date: lots of confusion in various profiles regarding Quaker dates: 10 Nov vs 11 Oct. ---

Parents are: "Joseph Doan (Doane-724) was born October 23, 1759, and died May 28, 1838. Jemima Vestal, (Vestal-8) his wife, was born May 8, 1762. His children were: Thomas, John, Ruth (who married Joseph Haines), William, Elizabeth, Joseph, Jesse, Jonathan, Jacob, Rachel (who married Isaac Hines), Elisha and Mary."
