Richard Dobson was born 1769 in Thirsk, Yorkshire, England. He was the son of George Dobson and Mary Margaret Barker. He emigrated to Nova Scotia, via Boston, with his parents in 1773.[1] He married Charlotte Richardson on June 22, 1794.[2] They settled in Cape Tormentine, Botsford Parish, New Brunswick, where they raised a large family. In 1851, Richard and Charlotte were living near at least two of their children. A grand-daughter, Ann, age 13, was living with them. Her parents are to be confirmed.
Richard died on July 26, 1855 at Cape Tormentine, New Brunswick. [3] .
