Biography

James M Dodd was enumerated as son at Beat 5 Centre District, Attala County, Mississippi for the June 2, United States Census, 1880. He was noted as born 1875 in Mississippi and single as seen in this image of the original census. Also included in the household are self George A Dodd, wife S J Dodd, daughter Mattie L Dodd and son Carley L Dodd.[1]

James Madison Dodd registered for military service as recorded in this September 12, 1918 United States World War I Draft Registration Card. His birth was listed as October 8, 1874. His address was Star, Kosciusko, Attala County, Mississippi. He was farming for himself. His nearest relative was Mrs. Marjorie Francis Dodd at Star, Kosciusko, Attala County, Mississippi. He was tall and stout with grey eyes and dark brown hair. It was added that his right leg was five inches shorter that his left leg as seen in this image of the original form.[2]

James M Dodd was enumerated as head of the household at Zama? Highway, Beat 1, Attala County, Mississippi for the April 21, United States Census, 1930. He was noted as born 1876 in Mississippi and married. He was first married at the age of thirty-eight. He was an owner and a farmer on a general farm as seen in an image of the original census. Also included in the household is wife Marjorie B Dodd.[3]
