My great grandfather began the search back in 1870. Our irish family and our English family the Barbers, who came from Newtonstewart, ireland abt 1835 and our Benedict family that came from England and helped settle New England. This information was passed down among family members, cousins that were still living on the family farm in Michigan and finally came to me...out in Washington State. i have found quite a lot of new info with the help of computers . I help with our own state archives and enter data from all the records they have so more people can find their relatives. I would enjoy hearing from anyone in my tree. .there are quite a few!

Hi Elaine -

I noticed that you're working on pre-1700-era profiles. This is just a reminder that certifying to work on these types of profiles means that you agree to add valid sources as outlined in the Pre-1700 Certification Quiz.

If you need help with this, our G2G Forum is a great place to start. You can get there by clicking the link on the Help menu.

Thanks!

Hi Elaine,

I took a photo of the tintype of John Barber. My Mom’s cousin has family information. We must be cousins of some kind! I’m descended from Hiram’s sister Martha Caroline Barber Quigley. Paige [email address removed]

Yes, I know the Quigley names and Hiram named his daughter Caroline, Carrie for his sister. Are you living in Michigan? Yes we would be cousins, my DNA profile is on Ancestry. If you don't mind, send me your email and I will send you the link on ancestry to see our5 tree, its free to look at.

My email is [email address removed]

Hi!

Just checking in with a few quick tips:

http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Free-Space_Profile Free Space pages] are wiki pages for supplementing your family history. They can be used to profile anything of significance such as a special pet, a meaningful event, a school you attended, a family heirloom…… They’re “anything pages.”

Not sure what to include in a profile? Check out ourBiography Ideas and Styles and Standards help pages.

Lastly, sometimes you’ll run into unresponsive profile managers. We have a process for resolving those unfortunate situations.

If you have any questions, please ask!
