Biography

Martha Dodd was enumerated at Fayetteville Post Office, Fayette County, Georgia for the July 26, United States Census, 1870. She was noted as born 1861-1862 in Georgia as seen in this image of the original census. Also included in the household are male Ed Thos Dodd, female Mary B Dodd, male Franci J Dodd, female Mary E Dodd, male Asa Porter Dodd and male J Thos Dodd.[1]

1880 - District 1248, Fayette, Georgia

Martha L Graves was enumerated as wife of the head of household in Red Oak, Campbell County, Georgia for the June 6, United States Census, 1900. She was noted as born June 1862 in Georgia and had been married for twenty-two years. She was the mother of eight children who were all still living. Also included in the household are head William R Graves, daughter Minnie V Graves, son Rufus J Graves, daughter Mary M Graves, son Ernest G Graves, son John V Graves, son Jessee M Graves, son Rufus L Graves and daughter Roxey I Graves as seen in an image of the original census.[2]

Martha J Graves was enumerated as wife of the head of household at Princeton Avenue, College Park, Fulton County, Georgia for the April 19, United States Census, 1910. She was noted as born 1863 in Georgia and married. She is the mother of eleven children of which ten are still living as seen in the image of the original census. Also included in the household are head William R Graves, son Jesse M Graves, son Rufus L Graves, daughter Roxie I Graves, daughter Nina Graves and daughter Geraldine Graves.[3]

Martha Dodd was listed as the mother of Roxie Irene Stringfellow who died May 7, 1924 in Hawks Park, Volusia County, Florida. The father was listed as W. R. Graves and the husband B. Stringfellow.[4]

On April 1, 1935, Martha J Graves lived in Douglasville, Douglas County, Georgia.[5]

Martha J Graves was enumerated as head of the household at Douglasville, Douglas County, Georgia for the April 9, United States Census, 1940. She was noted as born 1863 in Georgia and widowed. She rented a home as seen in this image of the original census. Also included in the household are daughter Geraldine Graves and grandson Davis Stringfellow.[5]
