Biography

John H Dodd was enumerated at Jonesboro Post Office, Clayton County, Georgia for the June 22, United States Census, 1870. He was noted as born 1859-1860 in Georgia as seen in this image of the original census. Also included in the household are male Frances M Dodd, female James [Jane] Dodd, male George E L Dodd, male Jessee J Dodd, male Lowell M Dodd and male Wilks Booth Dodd.[1]

John H Dodd was enumerated as son at 548th Militia District, Clayton County, Georgia for the June 5, United States Census, 1880. He was noted as farming, born 1860 in Georgia and single as seen in this image of the original census. Also included in the household are self Jane Dodd, son Jesse J Dodd, son Lowal M Dodd, son Robert L Dodd, son Francis M Dodd, daughter Margie J E Dodd and daughter Martha E Dodd.[2]

J. H. Dodd wed J. M. Lasseter December 25, 1881 in Clayton County, Georgia.[3]

John H Dodd was enumerated as head of the household in Red Apple, Boaz, Marshall County, Alabama for the June 5, United States Census, 1900. He was noted as a farmer and born October 1859 in Georgia. He had been married eighteen years and was an owner as seen in an image of the original census. Also included in the household are wife Icida Dodd, son James M Dodd, son Cola O Dodd, son Earnest M Dodd and son David E Dodd.[4]

John H Dodd was enumerated as head of the household at Boaz and Horton Road, Red Apple, Marshall County, Alabama for the April 23, United States Census, 1910. He was noted as born 1860 in Georgia and had been married twenty-nine years. He was a farmer on a home farm and an owner as seen in the image of the original census. Also included in the household are wife Ocieda M Dodd, son Collie O Dodd, son David E Dodd and son John H Dodd Jr.[5]

John H Dodd was enumerated as head of the household at Red Apple, Marshall County, Alabama for the January 15, United States Census, 1920. He was noted as born 1860 in Georgia and married. He was an owner and a farmer on a general farm as seen in the image of the original census. Also included in the household are wife Icidere Dodd and son John H Dodd.[6]

J H Dodd is buried at Mount Vernon Baptist Church Cemetery in Boaz, Marshall County, Alabama, USA.[8]
