Biography
Layton Dodson was born about 1808, possibly in Halifax county, Virginia. Layton is the son of George Dodson and his second wife Lucy Dodson.
Layton married Maria Calloway on the 28th of June, 1859.[1]
Layton appears in the 1860 Federal census in Pittsylvania county, Virginia.[2] Layton's household appeared as follows:
- Latton T Dodson Male 53 Virginia
- Mariah Dodson Female 32 Virginia
- George F Dodson Male 0 Virginia
- Lucy Dodson Female 79 Virginia
- Ellen Parson Female 15 Virginia
Layton died the 10th of June, 1865, in Halifax county, Virginia.[3]
