Joshua Polk Dodson was born about 1844, possibly in Talladega county, Alabama. Joshua was the son of Constant Dodson and Nancy Small.
Joshua, age 6, appears in the 1850 Federal census in Cherokee County, Texas in the household of his father, Constant Dodson.[1]
Joshua served in Company A, 9th Texas Cavalry in the Civil War. Joshua died in 1862 while serving in the Civil War. Joshua is buried in the Okolona Confederate Cemetery, Chickasaw County, Mississippi.[2]
