Biography
Kate was born in 1872 in Oxford, England [1]. Her parents were George Dodson and Mary Shurrock.
She had 2 brothers and 3 sisters.
The family migrated to Port Augusta in South Australia in the "Lady Jocelyn" in 1875[2].
Her father died in a yachting accident in 1886.
Kate first married on 3 Jan 1894 to Henry Julius Christian Pfennig[3], but she was widowed 2 years later.
Her eldest brother and a sister remained in South Australia, but the 2 younger daughters (including Kate) left Augusta.
Kate was married in 1900 at Coolgardie, Western Australia to Alfred Earnest Cocks[4]. She was the mother of 3 sons and 4 daughters.[5]
She passed away in 1957 in Perth, Western Australia[6] and was buried at Karrakatta Cemetery and Crematorium[7].
