Alfred moved to Canada from the area of North Shields in England in approximately 1900. Alfred was a brass moulder. My family still have the brass candle stick holders he made. His son James Alfred was born in Canada in 1904. To the best of my knowledge he lived on Booth Street in Toronto. James Alfred was my grandfather. Also lived on Lansdowne Ave .

Hi
"Tyne and Wear" didn't exist until April 1974. If you could change this to Northumberland.
Thanks
Lesley

PS: Married 26/06/1901 @ St. Paul's Church, Jarrow, Durham, England

Lesley I want to thank you for the corrections and new information. I am primarily an ancestry.ca user. I have come a long way since first posting on Wikitree. By my last name Donaldson you can see that this is my fathers branch of my tree. I had no clue as to the marriage location or date for my great grandfather Alfred and his second wife my great grandmother Agnes Horner. This arrived on Sat morning just before I was heading to help my 85 year old father with his deck refinishing. I was able to look up a photo of the church and show him. He was taken back a bit. He remembered them fondly. Alfred we know had a first wife Sarah Cecillia Thormon I believe but finding information on her has been a dead end. We think she committed suicide in the late 1890’s. Alfred was a brass moulder who moved emigrated to Toronto and brought Agnes and the child of his first marriage to Sarah (Albert) and Agnes and Alfreds daughter Jenny shortly afterwards. My grandfather James and his younger sister Agnes were born in Canada. Jarrow was the home of the Horners. My Donaldson branch resides in North Shields. I think my second great grandfather John Donaldson was a mariner perhaps a river policeman.

I don’t know how you found the information you did but it was so appreciated. If I am able to help you in any way please feel free to reach out. You can also use my email [email address removed] My ancestry tree now has substantial documentation on the Donaldson family and it’s branches ( far from complete but I chase every lead I find when I have the time. I’m pretty hard on corroborating documents for accuracy. ) you are welcome to view it any time if the need ever comes up.

I can’t thank you enough for uncovering that part of my family history.

Best wishes and especially hoping you stumble upon more treasures I have yet to uncover
