DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with John by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with John:

Yes Marj. Donelson, Tennessee, is about the son of this profile. Another fascinating profile. It will be ok to remove the conflicting source. Thank you

Does the S C Project agree that the "source to be reviewed": "Donelson, Tennessee" should be removed from this profile? seems to conflict with the Clement source.

what is AIS as in AIS PED CHART? Is it in another of the given sources? Page#?

The research notes posted this morning were mine. Removing them since you've identified the sources you're interested in.

Marj,

Thanks for bringing all of this to light. When you move on to the merges of the Andrew Donelson profiles, that will be the beginning of the presidential line of Andrew Jackson. Robin Lee, leader of the Presidents Project is aware of the work and will assist if needed.

Eric has them all proposed according to the lowest number correct LNAB.

Eric,

Thanks for all the research and the fantastic images of original records which allow us to have the accurate dates and information needed to sort these families.

Once again, the Southern Colonies project is in your debt.

Eric's work is outstanding. I hope I did not jump in here too soon; have been in touch with the mangers and I'm on the trusted list. Still have a few other sources that will confirm some of this. (some are on other profiles which I am looking at now. Thanks to everybody who is helping to identify John Donelson.

That is correct, This Donelson line is not related to any Donaldson's. They are not related to any Donaldson's from or lived in Delaware or any district of Delmarva. Time and time again through Primary sources which take time to find as there are no indexes, and then those images have to be converted, it is shown this family used the name Donelson. The final image of John Donelson's Estate Inventry showing the names of all concerned and signed by Nehemiah King proves this.

The Elizabeth Donaldson asked about with the runaway Convict was the widow of Reverend John Donaldson, her will is in Liber BTR book 30 folio 170 year 1756.

To clarify, when you say all prisoners, you are referring to the reference you provided, not those named in the notes section of the profile arriving on different ships.

Additionally, this record in THE KING’S PASSENGERS TO MARYLAND AND VIRGINIA, BY PETER WILSON COLDHAM: May 1748; Elizabeth Donaldson reports a runaway felon, Robert Tonge. Somerset County, MD. Who is Elizabeth? How does she belong to this John? The MD Gazette 1727 - 1761: Elizabeth Donaldson, living in ST. MARY’s County, at the Head of the Choptank, reports a runaway convict servant man named Robert Tonge, about age 30. Somerset/St Marys - multiple plantations like John Cheney who bought Thomas Donaldson? You are attributing that purchase record to this John Donelson. May be correct, but we don't know for sure yet.

Its been asked about the Jacobite connection wjth John Donelson arriving as an unindentured Rebel in 1716

John Donelson did not arrive as a Jacobite Rebel prisoner and nor did his father Patrick. John Donelson purchased a Jacobite Prisoner as an indentured slave in 1716 (first page) his name is on page 3 at right in the list of Purchasers. All the prisoners arrived 1716 on the ship "Good speed" via Liverpool.
