Research Notes
John was my great grandfather. He was a miner and then became a master shoe maker and he died the year my mother was born. The 1871 census shows John DonnALLY, The marriage certificate also states DonnALLY . He was born in 1846 somewhere in Ireland, I have no info as to whether it was in the South or North. He died from senile dementia.
He was the son of John Donnelly,1820 to 1880 and Alice Mothers Donnelly. I have record as to when he moved to Scotland. [8] He passed away in 1907. [9]

John Dobbin
All I know about him is that he came from Ireland before 1871 and that he was ,first a miner then a master shoe maker with a shop somewhere in main St Chapelhall, and the he died the same year as my mother was born.

Donnelly-1074 and Donnelly-1002 appear to represent the same person because: These two profiles are for the same person. They both have the same birth year, but one is listed as the father of the other. I was going to simply adjust the birth year, but Donnelly-1074 has a father connected with a birth year of 1820. I think the easiest solution is to simple merge these two profiles. During the merge, you can confirm the name of his father. Thanks for your help with this.
