Farmer and Storekeeper, owner of the Ballance General Store; the family moved to Flaxmere, a Dorset dairy farm at Opaki in the Wairarapa.

Mr W. L. Dorset, eldest son of Mr L. W. (sic) Dorset, of Mauriceville, was married to Miss Agnes Murphy, of Ballanee, on Wednesday last. The ceremony took place at the Roman Catholic Chapel, Pahiatua, and was performed by the Rev. Father Duffy. The wedding breakfast was provided at Cox's Trocadero, and passed off most enjoyably. The honeymoon will be spent in Wanganui. A large number of serviceable presents testified to the popularity and esteem in which both bride and bridegroom are held.^[4]
