Biography

Terry Bluford Doss was born on 20 Jan 1831 in Floyd, Virginia to parents Phillip Doss and Priscilla (Celia) Reed. He married first Eveline Miller. Children: Sarah Frances, John Nathan Riley, Arminta Alice, Viola Jane, Henry Ed, Ollie, Eveline.

He married second Tacy Jane Halstead about 1857. Children: Virginia Elizabeth. After Tacy died in 1888 he married third Emily Essie Dolin on 29 Apr 1889 in Boone, West Virginia. Children: Nancy Edith, Isom, Rosa Lee. He died on 12 Apr 1915 in Foster, Boone, West Virginia.

He served in the Confederate Army during the Civil War, 36th Regiment, Virginia Infantry, 2nd Kanawha Infantry, Company C and D, Private. He enlisted on 19 Jun 1861 in Chapmanville, West Virginia, Company D, 36th Infantry. Mustered out on 15 Jul 1862.

He was Deputy Sheriff of Boone County in 1875.
