Hi ,

Now that you have had a little time to try WikiTree, there are a few more features you may find useful.

Ideas on what to include in a profile can be found in Styles and Standards, including some tips on writing biographies.

If you need to describe an event, an heirloom or a location relevant to your research, you may like to learn about Free Space Profiles.

Lastly, sometimes you'll run into unresponsive profile managers. We have a process for resolving those unfortunate situations.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask via my profile page.

Hello,

Thank you for signing the Honor code. Collaboration, accurate information and good sources are the basis for a great WikiTree.

By signing the Honor Code you're telling others you are a responsible Wiki genealogist.

Feel free to ask me via my profile page if you have any questions.

Have a nice journey on Wikitree,

Guy - Wikitree Mentor / Leader

Welcome! Thanks for a great note! You are now a member of the WikiTree Community. Please note we are trying to build one Collaborative Tree which means one profile per person. It is important to ensure no duplicates are entered as you add profiles to WikiTree. Also please add sources to each of your new profiles.Even if you're just a casual family historian recording family history, you will be helping future genealogists by listing where the information you've added came from.

If you need any help getting started, check out the help section from the menu, top left, or head over to the G2G forum. You might want to check out the introductory WikiTree video that a member created.

Growing up, my father always said that we were descendants from Pilgrim Edward Doty but we really had no proof. Finally in or about 2007 I started working on my GSMD application. It was accepted and approved in 2011. I have also had my DNA tested via Family Tree DNA and submitted the results to the National Geographic Genome project. I am a part time genealogist but would love to help others in their quest for their roots.

The G2G forum will answer a lot of your questions, as well as the Find and Help Menus (upper right). Our goal is to have one profile per person that is properly sourced. WikiTree is a collaborative site for people of all experience levels. Please take your time and check us out. If you would like to join us, please check the Volunteer Box, and leave us a message, here on your Profile page, to that effect. We would love to have you!
