Texas county tax rolls make it clear that Charles survived the Civil War. He apparently came back to Grayson county and later went to Collin county, Tx. In Collin county there is evidence that he owned land with his brother, Burtis. [2] Also living in Collin county was older brother, Alfred M Douglas(s) who had settled near McKinney.
