Biography

Electus was born in 1810 to 17-year-old Mary Comfort. His biological father is unknown. He was baptized on 31 Oct 1810 in the German Reform Church (Brick Church) of Montgomery, NY. The church records state that he was illegitimate. His name is sometimes mistranscribed as "Lester".

When Mary married Isaac Douglass, Electus took on his name.

He passed away in 1891.
