DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Alexander by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Alexander:
Traci... Ancestry identified Nancy Douglas as the wife... based on its family trees. Also, her death year matches the birth year for their son in 1764,.. and I don't see any siblings. Since Dicy died in 1787, I really don't know which was the wife... possibly Dicy was a later wife and the marriage date is wrong. Both were born in 1940 which is interesting... Maybe Dicy is a nickname. Just not sure.
This is why we WikiTree doesn't allow use of online trees for information. Ancestry Trees has no marriage record for this Alexander and he could possibly have up to 4 wives .... see his "brother's" profile (needs merge into this one). Ancestry also identified Dicy Watson, and Elizabeth Webb as the wives of this Alexander, none with sources. I'm afraid this family is a conflated mess and needs more research than I have time for.
