William Edwards Douglass was an electrical engineer and his estate bequeathed money to establish the William Edwards Douglass Endowed Presidential Scholarship in Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Texas, Austin.

The William Edwards Douglass Endowed Presidential Scholarship in Electrical and Computer Engineering was established by the Board of Regents of The University of Texas System on May 11, 1995, for the benefit of the Cockrell School of Engineering. Gift funds were provided by the Lela Mae Fortenberry Douglass Estate of Denton, Texas. The endowment honors Mr. William E. Douglass of Kerrville, Texas, a 1929 graduate of The University of Texas at Austin Cockrell School of Engineering.

Services for were held Saturday Nov 3 at Coker Funeral Chapel in Decatur for William Edwards ‘Bill" Douglas, 72, of Kerrville. The Rev Lester Dacken officiated with burial m Rosston Cemetery. Douglas died Thursday in Kerrville. Pallbearers were W.D. Johnston. Earl Sherman, Charles Morns. Tom Bridges and Ansel. Troy. Phillip and Tony Fortenberry. Douglas, was born Oct. 2. 1907 in Los Angeles. Calif., was a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin. He married Lela Mae Fortenberry. July 3.1937
