William Douglass was born in 1854^[1] in Windsor, New South Wales, Australia as the second child of Christopher Douglass and Mary Morris. He had two siblings, namely: Christopher, and Amos Alfred. He died on 02 Dec 1934 in Pitt Town, New South Wales, Australia. When he was 29, he married Sarah Roberts, daughter of Richard Roberts and Elizabeth Walters, on 13 Nov 1883^[2] in Windsor, New South Wales, Australia.
