“Elinor Davis, known as Mary Eleanor Davis in Find A grave, is the daughter of James Davis and Elinor Steelman. She was born 4 Apr 1741 in Rowan County, North Carolina, United States. She died 26 Mar 1806 (aged 64) in Anderson County, South Carolina, United States and was buried at Douthit Family Cemetery in Piedmont, Anderson County, South Carolina, United States. [1]
On 09 Mar 1764 Elinor Davis married John Douthet (Douthit) in Rowan, North Carolina, United States. [2]

Elinor's Find A Grave memorial has her name as "Mary Eleanor “Elinor” Davis Douthit. No other records have been found that have Mary as part of her name.
