1. New Aberdeen, or, The Scotch settlement of Monmouth County, New Jersey by Steen, James pg 34. Alexander Dove emigrated from Scotland with the household of Thomas Gordon to East New Jersey. After his indenture with Gordon, he bought 1.5 acres in Perth Amboy and worked as a carpenter. Page 147: his name is written "Dowe" (old form)
