Biography
James was a dyer of London. He died before the 10th of April 1781 as recorded on his daughter, Jean's marriage record. [1]
Research Notes
No conclusive sources have been found for James' birth, death or marriage. His occupation was recorded on his daughter's marriage record, as was the fact of his decease. His daughter, Jean, was married in South Leith and her husband was from Burntisland, Fife so it seems likely that he (and/or his wife) either came from Scotland or had a Scottish connection.
